Dull, Brittle and Thinning Hair Strands: Mesotherapy for Hair Quality and the Right Care Habits

Why strands thin, break and lose shine; shedding vs breakage; mesotherapy's role in hair quality; and habits that protect hair.

Dull, Brittle and Thinning Hair Strands: Mesotherapy for Hair Quality and the Right Care Habits

Sometimes the problem isn't shedding but breakage and declining quality: thinner strands, broken ends, lost shine, hair that never seems to grow.

Feature Shedding Breakage
End of strand Small white bulb No bulb; snaps mid-shaft or at ends
Length Usually full-length Short pieces of varying length
Origin Scalp Lengths and ends
Likely cause Cycle, hormones, deficiencies Mechanical and chemical damage

Breakage comes from the strand, not the follicle, so habits must change too.

Factor Effect
Frequent dye, bleach, perms Weaken structure
High heat Damage keratin
Tight styles Breakage and traction
Rough or wet combing Wet hair is fragile
Sun, sea, chlorine Damage the cuticle
Poor nutrition Low protein, iron, zinc
Hormones Thinner strands
Age Gradual thinning

Mesotherapy can deliver amino acids, vitamins and minerals to follicles, support scalp hydration, and help new strands grow healthier.

It supports new growth; it doesn't repair damaged lengths — trims and care do.

Washing: mild shampoo on the scalp, conditioner on lengths, lukewarm water. Drying and styling: press with a towel instead of rubbing; low–medium heat at a distance; heat protectant; less straightening and curling. Combing and tying: wide-tooth comb when wet; detangle from ends to roots; avoid daily tight styles and metal clips; loose braid or silk/satin pillowcase at night. Chemicals: space treatments and don't combine several at once.

See a doctor if breakage comes with noticeable shedding, scalp itching, scaling or redness, or brittle nails, fatigue and pallor (possible iron deficiency).

At our Istanbul clinic we distinguish shedding from breakage and plan mesotherapy with care advice when appropriate; clients from Yalova, Bursa, Kocaeli and Gebze can share their routine for tailored tips.
