What's in a Hair Mesotherapy Cocktail? Vitamins, Amino Acids, Peptides and Hyaluronic Acid
Ingredients used in hair mesotherapy blends and their proposed roles: B vitamins, biotin, zinc, amino acids, peptides, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid.
Hair mesotherapy isn't one product; blends vary, chosen by loss type, scalp condition and medical assessment.
| Group | Examples | Proposed role |
|---|---|---|
| B vitamins | B3, B5, B6, B7 (biotin), B12 | Cell metabolism, keratin production |
| Amino acids | Cysteine, methionine, arginine, lysine | Keratin building blocks |
| Minerals | Zinc, copper, selenium, magnesium | Enzymes and hair cycle |
| Peptides | Biomimetic, copper peptides | Signalling around follicles |
| Antioxidants | Glutathione, vitamin C, CoQ10 | Oxidative stress protection |
| Hyaluronic acid | Non-cross-linked HA | Scalp hydration |
| Botanicals | Ginkgo, green tea | Circulation, antioxidant (limited data) |
Evidence varies; promising lab results don't always translate into consistent clinical effects.
Keratin forms most of the hair shaft, rich in sulphur amino acids (cysteine, methionine), which blends aim to supply.
Biotin: deficiency is rare but causes shedding; extra benefit in people without deficiency is debated; biotin can skew thyroid and cardiac lab tests — mention it before blood tests.
Hyaluronic acid here is non-cross-linked, used for scalp hydration, not volume like facial fillers.
| Approach | Feature |
|---|---|
| Licensed ready products | Standard content, controlled manufacturing |
| Custom blends | Tailored; sterility and compatibility crucial |
Products must be licensed, sterile and in date; never use products of unknown content.
Choice depends on: loss type, shaft quality, scalp condition, allergies, blood results and other treatments (PRP, medicines, transplant).
Ask: Which product and what's in it? Is it licensed? Why this blend for me? Any allergy risk?
At our Istanbul clinic product contents are shared with clients and chosen by the doctor; clients from Yalova, Bursa, Kocaeli and Gebze can bring recent blood results.
