Old permanent brows may have turned grey, blue or orange, shifted, or no longer suit the face; sometimes a recent result simply disappoints. Most cases allow a correction plan, chosen by the old pigment's colour, density and position.

Assessed Why
Current colour Determines the corrector
Density Overwork vs lighten first
Position Can the new design cover the old?
Depth Deep pigment is harder to correct
Skin Scarring, firmness, sensitivity
Date Recent work must fully heal

1. Colour neutralising

If old pigment is light and superficial, neutralise with opposite tones, then apply the desired brown.

Current colour Corrective approach
Grey / blue Warm orange-gold modifier
Orange / red Cool green-ash modifier
Pink / red Green-based corrector

2. Laser lightening

For dark, dense or overspilled pigment, laser breaks it up over several sessions, ideally by an experienced doctor; a test patch may be wise as some pigments change colour unexpectedly.

3. Saline removal

Helps draw pigment out, useful for small areas outside the brow; needs several sessions with healing in between.

4. Redesign over the old

If old brows are light enough or the new shape encloses them, apply the new design directly; powder covers irregularities well.

Expectations: correction rarely finishes in one session; a lighter brow over very dark pigment usually needs lightening first; patience over months determines the result.

Situation Leading method
Faded, colour-shifted Correct + redesign
Very dark, blocky Laser, then redesign
Small overspill Saline or targeted laser
Acceptable but tired Refresh and tone update
Sparse hairs too Pigment ± brow transplant

At our Istanbul clinic old PMU is assessed for colour, density and position to build a staged plan, with doctor referral for laser when needed; clients from Yalova, Bursa, Kocaeli and Gebze can send close-up daylight photos.
