Who Should Not Have Eyebrow Pigmentation? Conditions to Postpone and Health Checks
Conditions that prevent or postpone eyebrow pigmentation: pregnancy, medicines, skin disease, diabetes, blood thinners, keloids and recent aesthetic procedures.
Brow pigmentation is safe for most people, but some health conditions affect healing, pigment retention and infection risk, so a brief health assessment comes first.
| Postpone | Why |
|---|---|
| Pregnancy | Insufficient safety data; hormonal effects |
| Breastfeeding | Usually postponed |
| Active acne, cold sores, infection on brows | Spread and scarring risk |
| Fever or systemic infection | Slower healing |
| Chemotherapy or radiotherapy | Timing with the oncology team |
| Isotretinoin in the last 6 months | Thin skin, scarring risk |
Needs medical input: uncontrolled diabetes (usually fine if controlled); blood thinners (bleeding pushes pigment out; never stop them yourself); autoimmune disease and immunosuppressants; heart valve disease; epilepsy.
| Skin issue | Approach |
|---|---|
| Psoriasis or seborrhoeic dermatitis on brows | Treat first |
| Keloid tendency | Careful assessment; often not advised |
| Mole or suspicious lesion | Dermatology check first |
| Very sensitive or rosacea skin | Gentler technique |
| Recent procedure | Typical wait |
|---|---|
| Botox | About 2 weeks |
| Fillers near brows | About 2–4 weeks |
| Chemical peel | About 4 weeks |
| Laser resurfacing | About 4–6 weeks |
| Brow tint or lamination | 1–2 weeks |

On the day: no alcohol or excess caffeine for 24 hours, no aspirin-type painkillers without medical advice, no sunburn, and disclose all medicines and allergies.
At our Istanbul clinic every client completes a health form and medical input is requested when needed; clients from Yalova, Bursa, Kocaeli and Gebze can share health details beforehand to avoid a wasted trip.
