PRP for Beard and Eyebrows: Patchy Beards, Post-Transplant Support and Brow Quality

PRP can also be considered for the beard and eyebrows; these hairs share biology with scalp hair, but skin, density and sensitivity differ.

Situation Role of PRP
Beard with sparse hairs Support existing follicles
After beard transplant Support healing and new hairs
After brow transplant Supportive, on medical advice
Overplucked thin brows If follicles remain
Completely hairless areas Limited; consider transplant

PRP doesn't create follicles; where a beard never grew genetically, a beard transplant fits better.

Patchy beards: density is largely genetic and hormonal; PRP may thicken fine hairs, but don't expect change in empty cheeks or under the jaw; beards may develop into the mid-20s.

Technique: blood draw and preparation as for the scalp; antiseptic; optional numbing cream; very fine, superficial injections; gentle technique for the sensitive face.

Area Loading Maintenance
Beard 3–4 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart Every 3–6 months as needed
Brows 2–3 sessions, 4 weeks apart If needed
Post-transplant As the doctor plans —

Face-specific aftercare: no face washing or makeup on day one; delay shaving 24–48 hours; avoid sauna, steam and heavy exercise for 48 hours; mild swelling and redness for 1–2 days; bruising is more common than on the scalp and fades in days.

Not suitable with: active facial acne, infection or cold sores; recent facial fillers or injections (time with your doctor); general PRP contraindications.

At our Istanbul clinic beard and brow PRP is planned after assessing follicles, combined with transplants when needed; clients from Yalova, Bursa, Kocaeli and Gebze can send close-up photos.
